Atlanta Basketball League minutes founding meeting minutes

Scope and Contents

This collection contains typed minutes from the first Atlanta Basketball League meeting in which the league was established, officers were elected, and a rules and schedule committee were created. Teams represented in the meeting include Knights of Columbus, General Office, Fifth Infantry, and Wesley House Athletic Club. Shelley Ivey (1879-?), the newly elected secretary, wrote handwritten corrections on the minutes.

Scope and Contents of the Records

The photographs in this collection were taken on June 19, 1908, the occasion of the running of the “Atlanta Chamber of Commerce Special,” the first regular passenger train of the Atlanta Division of the Atlanta, Birmingham, and Atlantic Railroad. The photographs were taken by Abananza Studios of Atlanta, Georgia.

The collection contains photographs of the Atlanta Council of International Visitors (ACIV) from 1969-1979. The photographs consist of black and white and color images of global leaders, students, and professionals who represented countries worldwide. Also of note are photographs of Latin American journalists visiting with Governor Jimmy Carter in 1972.
