Kenan Research Center Finding Aids

This collection contains photographs of the Eberhardt family, families associated with the Eberhardts, and businesses in Atlanta, Georgia, including R.P. and J.G. Eberhardt and Company and T.L. Eberhardt Coal Company. Many of these photographs were taken by Atlanta-based photographer Linnie Condon.

This collection contains a photocopy of a typed letter from Emma Muse Warren (Mrs. R. H. Warren) to her brother in 1942 in which she writes about family life in Atlanta from shortly after the Civil War through the 1940s.

This collection is comprised of one scrapbook.

The bulk of this collection consists of meeting minutes, financial records, annual reports, membership lists, correspondence, publications, and scholarship fund information. Publications include English Speaking Union News and The Branch Officer’s Bulletin. Also included are the dissertations of Ph.D. students awarded grants from the Atlanta Branch’s scholarship funds to help them pursue their research in England.

This collection contains an unbound scrapbook and records collected by Erna Lee Mason about her farm and the Mason family. The scrapbook includes photographs, deeds, correspondence, brochures, and ephemera. Farm records document maintenance and finances, such as acreage reports to the U.S. Department of Agriculture and tree upkeep. The collection also includes newspaper clippings about the Spanish-American War, Glover Cleveland’s presidency, and President Roosevelt’s economic policies.

The collection consists of documents from Ernest Howington's military service. These include Howington's service records, discharge papers, billet cards, and notebook. There is also a copy of the Seventh Infantry Division's newspaper, The Hour Glass, from June 5, 1919, which contained articles about the Army's demobilization.

This collection contains images taken of the Tullie Smith House in its original location at 2890 North Druid Hills Road in Atlanta, DeKalb County, Georgia.

This collection consists of personal papers of Esther Garrett Wynne, including correspondence with her brother, Franklin Garrett. Other documents are invitations, newspaper clippings, correspondence with others, memorabilia, and garden club yearbooks. There are also eight scrapbooks, which highlight Mrs. Wynne's activities throughout her life, including her first marriage, her time in the Red Cross, travels, and her social activities.

This collection contains a scrapbook kept by Ethel Taylor Snipes at Girls High School. Included are autographs of those attending the 50th class reunion in 1972. Also included are photos, clippings, programs, an official list of textbooks, Red Cross certificates, and report cards.

This collection contains correspondence, financial records, legal documents, and items relating to the lives of John C. Fanning and Ella Smalley Fanning. The majority of correspondence prior to 1900 was sent to Ella Smalley and relates to her education. She received numerous correspondence from J.H. Ware, Principal of Williams Creek Academy in Norwood, Georgia.

This collection contains a letter that contains a marriage proposal to Miss Fanny Clarke from an individual identified only as "Frank" written on April 2, 1845 in Augusta, Georgia.

This collection consists of two scrapbooks covering the period 1949-1981. The scrapbooks contain photographs, notices, and yearbooks documenting the activities of the Fine Arts Forum.

This collection includes newsletters, brochures, and handbooks of the First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta, documenting its ministry and membership. The handbooks list outreach programs as well as its organizational structure. The collection also includes annual reports detailing the church's activities throughout the year and bulletins that detail celebrations for the church's 150th anniversary.
