These letters from Walter Newman of Atlanta, Georgia were written from Cambridge, Massachusetts after World War I. He wrote to his mother about his discharge from the Army and to his brother Edward. War Act broadside
This collection contains a broadside of an act "Recognizing the existence of a state of war between the United States and the Confederate States of America and concerning letters of marque, prizes, and prize goods." It is signed by Howell Cobb, president of the Congress, Jefferson Davis, and Robert Toombs, Secretary of State.
War savings bond certificate
This collection contains one certificate for the purchase of war savings bonds to sponsor the United States military efforts during World War II. This particular bond was sold to build a new cruiser, called Atlanta, in 1943.

Way family documents
This collection contains a certificate from Georgia Tech verifying the enrollment of Harold Way, a 1906 yearbook from Massachusetts Institute of Technology where he graduated, and a letter granting commission to him as a Captain in the United States Army in 1918. Also included is a certificate from the American Red Cross belonging to Jeannette Way, Harold's wife.
