Scope and Content Note From the Series: The slides and photographs in this series depict six separate events in Atlanta. The largest collection of slides in this series depicts a parade through downtown Atlanta on “Heroes Day” on May 24, 1945, an event honoring members of the First Army and their commander, General Courtney Hodges, a Georgia native.
