This series contains photographs of family members and friends of the Allen, Grant, Inman, and Richardson families of Atlanta, Georgia. The images of family members include the following people; Daniel Allen, Inman Allen, Ivan Allen, Sr., Ivan Allen, Jr., Ivan Allen, III, Susan Allen, John William Grant, Annie Martin Inman (Mrs. John William Grant), Edward Inman, Sr., Emily Inman, Hugh T. Inman, Josephine Van Dyke Inman (Mrs. Hugh Richardson), Hugh I. Richardson, Hugh Richardson, Louise Richardson (Mrs. Ivan Allen, Jr.), and Margaret Josephine Van Dyke (Mrs. Hugh T. Inman). In the inventory, females are listed with their married names in parenthesis The series also includes images of friends, business associates and acquaintances of the families including Morris Abram, Georgia Governors Ellis Arnall and George Busbee, Atlanta Mayor William Hartsfield, Mrs. Leonard Haas, Martin Luther King, Sr., Atlanta Mayor Maynard Jackson and his wife, Bunnie, Doris Lockerman, Herbert Oliver, Robert F. Maddox, Cator Woolford, and Coca Cola Company President Robert W. Woodruff. Included among the images are individual and family portraits, social events, conventions and business meetings, dedications, memorial events, and photographs of Hugh Richardson and Josephine Inman’s wedding in 1898. Images that document the mayoral career of Ivan Allen, Jr. include a campaign poster, ceremonies surrounding the construction of Atlanta Stadium, a photograph taken during the 1961 campaign with rival Lester Maddox, and a photograph of Allen with members of the rock group "The Beatles" during their appearance in Atlanta. There are also two albums with photos of Ivan Allen, Jr. during his service as mayor, which include photos of him with Muhammad Ali, President Dwight Eisenhower, President Richard Nixon, John Wayne, Coretta Scott King, and at the funeral of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
