This collection consists of a pay receipt issued to Robert J. Freeman while he was serving as assistant surgeon on the CSS Atlanta.

Scope and Contents The bulk of this collection contains administrative documents from the Confederate States Navy (CSN). Documents include vouchers, allotment tickets, pay receipts, appointments, letters and receipts for repair from the CSS Alabama, CSS Chameleon, CSS Florida, CSS Rappahannock, CSS Scylla, CSS Shenandoah, and CSS Stonewall.
