Scope and Content The bulk of the personal papers of C. Mortimer Mason pertain to a cotton claim owned by the descendants of Thomas J. and Richard R. Holmes of Hinds County, Mississippi. The collection also contains geneological research materials gathered by Newel Mason to show lineage for entry into the Daughters of the American Revolution, United Daughters of the Confederacy, and the Colonial Dames. Lastly, there is a small amount of personal letters, newspaper clipping, and legal certificates and licenses.
