Scope and Content

Longtime Avondale Estates resident Dorothy Partridge wrote this narrative history of her community for a class at Georgia State University in 1992. Partridge drew heavily from contemporary newspaper articles and advertising brochures for the community of Ingleside, later Avondale Estates. The author’s compilation of survey and reminiscences of Avondale Estates residents are also included.

This collection consists of photographs documented and collected by William R. Mitchell, Jr that appeared in his books, lectures, and architectural studies.
