This collection contains photographs and landscape drawings that document the professional work and projects of Catherine M. Howett created during her career as a landscape architect and historian. Of particular interest are photographs of landscape plans and project models produced while Howett was a student at the School of Environmental Design (later College of Environment + Design) at University of Georgia.

This collection contains a draft photocopy of Bower's regional survey, "Fences in the Landscape of the Northeast Georgia Mountains" prepared while she worked as a preservation planner for the Georgia Mountains Area Planning and Development Commission (later Georgia Mountains Regional Commission). Bower's survey examines the history of fences in the southeastern states and the types of fences used in northeast Georgia.
