Scope and Content

This collection contains postcards from the Southeastern United States with the majority from Georgia. Images include gardens, landscapes, residences, street scenes, parks, cemeteries, and government buildings. Postcards represent a range of styles and formats with most being in color. Of special interest are gardens, landscapes, and street scenes that document plant materials from the early 20th century.

Scope and Content This collection contains two albums of black and white photographs. The images are of Irene Sherard, her family and her friends. Most of the images are undated and are taken in outdoor settings. The subjects of the images appear to be young men and women participating in group activities in playful outdoor settings. Locations of the photographs include Brookhaven, Grant Park, Lithia Springs, and Little St. Simon's Island, Georgia. Some of the images have captions written by Irene Sherard....

Scope and Content

This collection contains landscape drawings of mostly residential projects, but also includes some commercial properties and parks in Griffin and other Georgia cities. Drawings include general landscape plans and plant lists as well as plans for walls, foundation plantings, and traffic islands. Of special interest is Bell's 1940 senior thesis drawing of a country estate for his parents.

Scope and Content This collection contains 35 of 36 original botanical watercolors painted by Sarah G. Towery for Ryan Gainey's (1944-2016) book The Gathered Garden (2012). The thirty-sixth watercolor, "Ryan's Rainbow," is not included in the collection. Gainey, a world-renowned garden designer and horticulturist, commissioned Towery to complete 36 botanical watercolors.
