Alston and Glenn family papers

Scope and Contents This collection contains papers from the Alston and Glenn families of Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina. These families were joined by marriage when Jack Glenn married Anne Amanda Alston in 1935. Atwood family papers

Scope and Content

This collection contains several legal instruments of the Atwood family filed in Greene County and Putnam County, Georgia. Included is a marriage indenture (marriage certificate), letters of administration for an estate, a court order naming a guardian for a child, a probate will, and a petition to change trustees of marriage indenture.

Troutman and Battey family papers

Scope and Content

The bulk of the Troutman and Battey family papers are legal documents (many from Floyd Country) generated by those families, including deeds of indenture (many signed by Dr. Robert Battey), wills, and an abstract of title to lands in Floyd County. The collection also contains correspondence, the majority of which was sent to Colonel Hiram Bainbridge Troutman, a book of Minstrel song, and documents pertaining to Atlanta society.
