This collection contains an unpublished autobiography by A. W. Owen and genealogical material on his family. The autobiography focuses on Owen's parentage, childhood, personal life, and teaching career. The genealogical material is a compilation of handwritten research on A. W. Owen, copies of censuses that contain his name, copies of letters he wrote, and excerpts from newspapers and books that mention him.

Scope and Content The collection contains Setze's military service records, certificates, awards, and correspondence. Also included are scrapbook pages containing poems from her fifth grade students in 1939; personal papers; a 1973 Georgia zip code directory booklet; a 1997 directory of the Atlanta Retired Teachers association; and a booklet on survivor benefits from the Navy. This collection contains documentation of Mary Virginia Davis's education. The bulk of the materials are grammar, arithmetic, and spelling workbooks from E. Rivers School in Atlanta, Georgia. Other school papers include graduation achievement documents, and an E. Rivers School 1946-1947 yearbook titled The Rivers Overflow. There is also a World War II ration book and a wedding dress invoice for Mary Virginia Brown, Bryan's great-grandmother.
