Scope and Content From the Series: Kurtz produced a large collection of paintings and a few are represented in this series. The pieces are watercolors or pen and ink and primarily depict scenes of a historical nature. Of particular interest are those related to Andrews' Raid. Kurtz created pieces of the Lacy Hotel at Big Shanty, Georgia based upon his research and interviews with individuals involved with Andrews' Raid or familiar with the hotel.
