Administrative/Biographical History
Robert W. Westmoreland (1850-1929) was the son of John Gray Westmoreland, M.D., who is accredited for founding the School of Medicine at Emory University and for donating the land on which his cottage and vineyard stood for the creation of Oakland Cemetery. Robert W. Westmoreland attended the University of Georgia in 1867 and 1868. He became a doctor and opened a practice in Atlanta. He was married to Elizabeth Catherine Woodward. Additional biographical information about Dr. Robert W. Westmoreland has not been determined.
