Administrative/Biographical History
James Joseph Coachman was born January 27, 1803, on his father's "Waterfield" plantation on the Sampit River near Georgetown, South Carolina. In 1841, he moved to Decatur County, Georgia, where he established a plantation, "Mulberry Hill." Additional biographical information about James Joseph Coachman has not been determined.
