Administrative/Biographical History

The Phoenix Society was granted a charter by the State of Georgia in 1964. The purpose of the Society is "to further the organizations, support, and advancement of such charitable, civic, or cultural project within Greater Atlanta and environs...The Society also provides a means whereby its members may, with grace and dignity, formally introduce their daughters to society...and to their civic obligations and responsibilities." Additional historical information about the Phoenix Society has not been determined.
