Scope and Content
This collection contains a copy of a transcription of the diary Leo Frank kept while imprisoned in the Fulton County Jail. He recorded the date, the time he arose, how he was feeling, the weather and visitors he had each day.

Administrative/Biographical History
Leo Frank was a Jewish superintendent of the National Pencil Factory, and was tried and convicted for the murder of Mary Phagan, a thirteen year old employee of the factory. Frank's death sentence was commuted by Governor John Slaton to life in prison, but Frank was lynched shortly thereafter.
