Administrative/Biographical History

The Peachtree Dunwoody Garden Club of Atlanta, Georgia, was organized in 1967 to "promote the love of gardening and the study of horticulture; protection of native trees, wild flowers and birds; advancement of gardening and development of home grounds; and the furthering of beautification of Peachtree Dunwoody Road and Fulton County." The club was governed by elected officers such as president, vice president, and treasurer and was a member of the Fulton County Federation of Garden Clubs. The club participated in several beautification projects including the islands and intersections along Peachtree Dunwoody Road and a native plant garden and trail at the Chattahoochee Nature Center of Dunwoody, Georgia. These projects earned the club several Home and Neighborhood Development Sponsors (H.A.N.D.S.) awards from the Fulton County Federation of Garden Clubs.
