Garrett family papers
Scope and Content
This collection contains seven letters to Matilda Eppes Garrett from her husband Gray Garrett and son Henry Garrett. Matilda and Gray Garrett lived in Tazewell, Claiborne County, Tennessee. Henry Garrett was an attorney in Dadeville, Alabama. Also included is a post card to Mrs. J. Montgomery, director of the Mary Gay Chapter of the Children of the Confederacy; three ballads belonging to Martha Louise Blassingame Graham, who was born in Monroe, Georgia on December 4, 1850, and once taught school in Dunwoody, Georgia; a soap recipe; a Singer sewing machine instruction book; and Warner Brothers sewing instructions.
