Administrative/Biographical History
The Georgia Daffodil Society was organized in 1954, by members of the American Daffodil Society who were encouraged to create home state organizations. The society's mission is "the public's education of the history of daffodils in Georgia though the findings of plantings around the state by earlier settlers" with a focus on growing and exhibiting daffodils in north-central and north Georgia. The society is governed by officers such as president, vice president, and treasurer elected by members. The society sponsors an annual daffodil show and holds annual meetings and bulb sales. The society also participates in outreach projects such as donating daffodil bulbs to schools and public gardens.
