Administrative/Biographical History
The Cottage Garden Club of Atlanta, Georgia, was formed in 1954 and joined the Garden Club of Georgia in 1955. The purpose of the club is to "stimulate among amateurs the knowledge and love of gardening, the protection of trees, plants and birds, and the encouragement of civic planting." The club is governed by officers elected by members of the club including a president and vice-president. Meetings and programs are held monthly and the club participates in numerous flower shows. The club has contributed to many civic projects including a long term commitment to the gardens at the Atlanta History Center, as well as supporting several of the Atlanta area hospitals.
