This collection contains clippings, correspondence, and scrapbooks related to the life of the Moores. Included in the collection are diaries of Mrs. Moore as well as two wedding books from the Moore's wedding in 1895.

Administrative/Biographical History

Wilmer L. and Cornelia Jackson Moore were married in 1895. Their children include: Mrs. Frederick Fry, Wilmer L. Moore, Jr. and Jack Moore. Wilmer L. Moore (1868-1954) grew up in Decatur, Georgia. He attended the University of Georgia and was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. His career includes the following appointments and positions: president of Chamber of Commerce, Atlanta from 1912-1913; assistant examiner for Fidelity Deposit Insurance Corporation, 1949; Chairman of the Board of Directors, Georgia State Training School for Girls; Director of the old Atlanta Lowry National Bank and later Director of the First National Bank; Director of Trust Company of Georgia; president of Southern Securities Corporation. His social activities and affiliations include: member of North Avenue Presbyterian Church; member of Piedmont Driving Club, Druid Hills Golf Club, and the Capital City Club. Mrs. Wilmer L. Moore (nee Cornelia Jackson) grew up in Atlanta where she made her debut. She was the daughter of Captain and Mrs. Harry Jackson and the granddaughter of two Confederate Generals - Thomas R.R. Cobb and Henry Jackson. She was also the niece of the Honorable Hoke Smith, Governor of Georgia and U.S. Senator. Mrs. Moore was active in the Atlanta Music Club and the National Radio Auditions held in Atlanta.
