Pritchett family photographs
Scope and Contents
This collection contains portraits of Henry and Elizabeth Pritchett, their children and extended family members, and other individuals who lived in the Whitter Mill Village. Of particular note are group portraits of the Whittier Cotton Mill baseball team. Also included are copy negatives and contact prints for the photographic prints.

Biographical / Historical
Henry Pennelton Pritchett (1900-1973) was born in Douglas County, Georgia, to William B. (1867-1937) and Triphena Pritchett (1868-1929). Henry Pritchett married Elizabeth Lindsey Pritchett (1907-1998), and the couple had four children: Ruth (1925-2005), Henry Jr. (1927-?), Christine (1929-1987), and Thomas (1933-2006). Henry and Elizabeth Pritchett both worked at Whittier Cotton Mill and lived in the neighboring Whittier Mill Village. He worked both as a twister and an oiler at the mill and she worked in the spinning room.
