Biographical / Historical
Mary Cawthon McIntrye (1932- ) was born in Hillsborough County, North Carolina, to Francis Leon Cawthon (1903-1972) and Mae Spencer Cawthon (1901-1987) of Meridian, Mississippi. She moved to Birmingham, Alabama, then to Decatur, Georgia, where she married Clarence W. McIntrye (1930-1987) in 1954. McIntrye attended the University of Florida and worked as a colummist for Atlanta Journal Constitution and Florida Flambeau. She wrote stort stories that were never published.
