This collection contains color images of Lois Scott's roses, camellias, and garden. Included in the collection are images of a child (likely Lois Ann) in the garden, the Scott residence, and a wooded area in spring bloom. Of special interest is an image of Scott with her flower show award ribbons and roses.

Biographical / Historical
Lois Elwood Scott (1898-1990) was born in Menominee, Michigan, to Calvin Rose Elwood (1870-1931) and Harriet Spies Elwood (1872-1955). She graduated from the University of Michigan in 1924 and married Atlanta attorney Thomas Howell Scott (1889-1947) in 1928. The couple lived at 3010 Habersham Road in the Buckhead neighborhood of Atlanta and had three children: Thomas Howell Jr. (1928-1936), Frank Elwood (1930-2014), and Lois Ann (1935- ). Scott was a president of the Rose Garden Club and worked on various committees with the Atlanta Flower Show Association. An avid rose grower, she served as president of the Georgia Rose Society and was a member of the American Rose Society. Scott also competed in numerous flower shows and lectured on growing roses.
