Private Albert T. Davie photographs
Scope and Content
The collection contains one scrapbook documenting the military service of Private Albert Thomas Davie and one panoramic image. Most of the images are personal photographs of members of the military serving with Davie, as well as snapshots of him taken by others. All are either unidentified or identified with only a first name. Interspersed in the scrapbook are images of the family of Davie, presumably sent to him while he was in service. The panoramic image consists of a large unidentified group creating handcrafted materials such as woodwork and weaving.

Administrative/Biographical History
Albert Thomas Davie (1929-2006) was born in Rome, Georgia, to Trella M. Vaughn (1898-) and Samuel M. Davie (1897-), a laborer in the cotton mill industry. Davie had five siblings: Grady Davie (1920-); Willard Davie (1924-); Inez Davie (1926-); Robert Davie (1928-); and Roburta Davie (1928-).
Davie served in the United States Army and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan, following World War II. He received an honorable discharge in 1951. Additional biographical information about Albert Thomas Davie has not been determined.
