Scope and Content

This collection contains photographs of an army encampment or reunion (memorial) at Chickamauga which includes images of cavalry camps and tents. Photographs also depict monuments to Wisconsin cavalry and Tennessee cavalry units. Of note are images of African American regiments.

Charles J. Hayden (1883-1952) was born to Henry Hayden (1848-?) and Margarett Haddex Hayden in New York City. He married Cora M. Hayden (1885-?). Hayden served as a sergeant in the United States Army and as a laborer in the hardware industry. Additional biographical information about Charles J. Hayden has not been determined.
