Scope and Contents of the Records

The photographs in this collection depict the Roxy Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia, a 2,395 single screen theatre opened in 1926 by R.E. Hall and Company on 210 Peachtree Street. Included are images of the first anniversary program edition of 1927, interior photographs of the pipe organ chamber, balcony, and gallery area; and exterior photographs of the Peachtree Street entrance. The demolition of the theatre is also shown through a photograph taken immediately after the wrecking period in August of 1972.
