Virginia Conrad Ribble scrapbook
Scope and Content
The collection contains a copy of The Congressional Globe published in 1847 that Virginia Conrad Ribble used as a scrapbook. The book covers proceedings and debates of the twenty-ninth United States Congress. Ribble pasted newspaper clippings throughout the book to document the major events of the Civil War throughout the United States.

Administrative/Biographical History
Virginia Catherine Conrad Ribble (1834-1889) was born in Rockingham County, Virginia, to George Conrad (1785-1850) and Susan Conrad (1793-1861). After the death of Virginia's father, her family moved to Harrisonburg, Virginia, where she resided until her death. She married Dr. George William Ribble (1830-1876) and they had one child: George William Ribble, Jr. (1865-1929). Additional biographical information about Virginia Ribble has not been determined.
