Scope and Content
This collection contains papers pertaining to the 1929 Georgia School of Technology Yellow Jackets football team. Materials include newspaper clippings, play maps, booklets, and programs that detail Georgia Tech's victory over California in the 1929 Rose Bowl. Also included are guest lists and correspondence concerning three class reunions of the 1929 team. Of particular note are a record of the Georgia Tech fight song and programs from ceremonies in which members of the 1929 team were inducted into the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame.

Administrative/Biographical History
John Joseph "Joe" Westbrook (1905-1996) was born to William Felton Westbrook (1876-1963) and Mattie Virginia Westbrook (1880-1951) in Moultrie, Georgia. Westbrook graduated from the Georgia School of Technology in 1929. While studying there, he played left guard on the Yellow Jackets football team when they defeated the University of California Golden Bears in the 1929 Rose Bowl. During World War II he served in the military, after which he purchased and operated a Chrysler dealership in East Point, Georgia. He married Constance Furman (1906-1991). Westbrook was the president of the Georgia Tech National Alumni Association from 1947-1949 and served on the athletic board and as the chairman of his class reunion committee.
