Administrative/Biographical History
Eleonore Raoul Greene (1888-1983) was born in New York to an Atlanta family. She was educated at Emory University School of Law, director of the Atlanta League of Women Voters, one of Atlanta's first female attorneys, and a sufragette. In addition, Greene was an accomplished horseback rider and won many competitions. In 1928 ahe married Harry L. Greene and they had three children: Victoria Greene (1931- ?), Eleanore R. Greene (1935- ?), and Harry L. Greene, Jr. (1932- ?). Nancy Downing (1910-1993) was a friend of Greene, and was the daughter of Walter T. Downing (1865-1918), the architect who designed the Raoul family home.
