Greenberry Jones Foreacre (1828-1886) was born in Rainsboro, Ohio, the son of John Foreacre and Hannah Elliott Foreacre. Greenberry moved to Atlanta in 1850 and worked for a stage line and then a railroad. In 1853, he married Delia Henry Nichols. They had five children: William N., Ella Thomas, Waver W.,and Augustus D. Foreacre. Greenberry joined the army during the Civil War and attained the rank of Captain in Company B, 7th Regiment, Georgia Volunteer Infantry, organized May 31, 1861. Wounded in the Battle of Manassas, July 31, 1861, Greenberry returned to Atlanta for a long convalescence. He never fully recovered from his injuries and resigned his commission on April 7, 1862. During the remainder of the war, he was appointed Provost Marshall of the Military Post in Atlanta for a brief period, a general contractor for the Confederate government, and supervisor of Sugar Creek Paper Mill in Atlanta. Greenberry returned to railroad work after the war until his death in 1886.

Julia Brantley Willet (1900-1984) was the daughter of Ella Thomas Foreacre Brantley and granddaughter of Greenberry Jones Foreacre. She married Lawrence Willet (1896-1980) and records do not reflect they had any children. Materials found within the collection indicate she was quite involved in civic organizations and made significant financial contributions to many organizations.
