Administrative/Biographical History
Atlanta businessman Aaron Haas founded Aaron Haas and Company in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1891. It specialized in insurance and mortgage lending. When George Arthur Howell joined the firm, it was renamed Haas and Howell. In 1933, the company became Haas, Howell, and Dodd. The company is now a commercial real estate firm, known as Haas and Dodd. The Haas-Howell building, built by the original partners, stands on Poplar Street in downtown Atlanta.
