Robert "Bob" W. Miller (1942- ) was born and raised in Georgia. He graduated from the University of Georgia in 1964 with a Bachelor of Arts in history and earned his law degree from Yale Law School in 1967. Miller practiced law in Atlanta for thirty-one years, working in healthcare law at three different law firms: Alston, Miller & Gaines from 1967 to 1977 (making partner in 1971); Bondurant, Miller, Hishon & Stephenson from 1977 to 1985 as a partner; and King & Spalding from 1985 to 1997 as a partner. In 1997 Miller retired from practicing law and in 2000 became an adjunct professor at Emory University School of Law. Miller was president of the American Health Lawyers Association and the Georgia Academy of Hospital Attorneys and was a board member of the American Bar Association Health Law Forum. In addition, he served as the editor-in-chief of The Journal of Health & Life Sciences Law and wrote "The Effects of the Health Reform Act on Self-Insured Employer Health Plans" in 2010.
