Scope and Content
This collection contains a copy of The Girl Graduate: Her Own Book in which McDonald recorded her fourth year at Girls High School. The book has sections with class photographs, class officers, class prophecies, graduation invitations, graduation programs, jokes and frolics, gown photos, and press notices. McDonald used the book as a scrapbook, adding newspaper clippings, notes from friends, event programs, drawings, and photographs of her and her classmates to the book.

Administrative/Biographical History
Ida Mae McDonald Perry (1897-1991) was born in Atlanta, Georgia, to Frank I. McDonald (1858-1927) and Ida Palmer McDonald (1866-1949). She had five siblings, Harry Alexander (1888-1958), Maurice Daniel (1893-1924), Laura (1901-?), Francis I. (1904-1997), and Marion (1910-?). In 1916 she graduated from Girls High School. Later, she married Marion G. Perry (1898-?) and they had one son, Louis P. (1925-?). Additional biographical information about Ida Mae McDonald Perry has not been determined.
