This collection contains materials from Bronte Woodard’s career as an author. Materials include pamphlets and a leather-bound screenplay of Grease; a program and a leather-bound screenplay of Can’t Stop the Music; a copy of a review of Meet Me at The Melba published in Vanity Fair; and a photocopy of two newspaper articles.

Administrative/Biographical History
Bronte Woodard (1940-1980) was born in Birmingham, Alabama, to Myron Bronte Woodard (1910-1994) and Eva Mae Terhune (1913-1996). Bronte grew up in Cedartown, Georgia, and later attended Gray High School, graduating in 1958. He started at Emory University, but finished his degree at Georgia State. He was a screenplay writer and author, and his works include the screenplay for the Grease film adaptation, the screenplay for Can’t Stop the Music, which he co-wrote with Allan Carr, and the novel, Meet Me at The Melba. At the time of his death, he was working on the script for Heartbreak Hotel, which was completed by Tom McCown as Heart of Dixie in 1989.
