Administrative/Biographical History

George Guilford "G.G." O. Chapman (1868-1955) was born close to Atlanta, in Buckhead, to George Reid Chapman (1841-1911) and Laura Beecher Chapman (1845-1937). In 1890, he married Cora C. Donaldson (1875-1928). They had nine children: Clara Jane (1891-1947), Laura Annie (Ann) (1893-1928), Russell Lewis (1894-1974), Thomas Alfred (1897-1951), Edward Squibb (1899-1973), Silas George (1901-1905), Harriet Lucile (1904-2001), Bernice Rowena (1907-1974), and Margaret Elizabeth (1916-2003). Chapman graduated from Atlanta Medical College in 1888 and opened his own internist and general practitioner medical practice.
