Kitty Anderson papers
Scope and Content
This collection contains many theater playbills from around the country, with the majority being from New York, New York, and Atlanta, Georgia. Also included in the collection is business, financial, and personal correspondence regarding various organizations with which she was involved. In addition, there are newspaper clippings and schedules of performances of artists in Atlanta (opera, violin, etc.) from 1918 to 1921.

Administrative/Biographical History
Kitty Anderson was born in Hastings, England. She was a member of the Hastings Operatic and Dramatic Society for several years. She also played in dramatic groups formed with U.S. Army personnel with whom she worked in France and Germany. While living in Atlanta, Ms. Anderson was active in both the business and performance aspects of the theater. Serving with the Atlanta Civic Theater, as secretary, treasurer, vice president, and president during the late 1940s and 1950s, Ms. Anderson also performed in plays such as Great Expectations, Uncle Harry, Gigi, and Cry Havoc. During the 1950s and early 1960s, Ms. Anderson was involved with Theater Atlanta, as well as Community Playhouse.
