W. F. Schulz railroad proposals
Scope and Content
This collection documents proposed changes to the Western & Atlantic Railroad route in Atlanta, Georgia. Included are a report on Union Station terminal revisions, blueprints for a potential railroad, and a proposal of specifications for a section of tracks between Piedmont Avenue and Forsyth Street.

Administrative/Biographical History
Walter Frederick Werner Schulz (1876-1955) was born in Berlin, Germany, to Albertine Anna Gertrud Schulz and Otto Werner Schulz. Schulz and his wife, Clara Nettie Schulz (1881-1944), lived in Memphis, Tennessee, with their two children, Carolyn Rose Schulz (1908-?) and Barton Brown Schulz (1918-1997). Schulz was a self-employed consulting engineer and architect who mainly worked on southeastern railroads, including the Western & Atlantic Railroad.
