Administrative/Biographical History

Ansley Park Garden Club of Atlanta, Georgia, was organized in 1952 to "have a better understanding and appreciation of our community, to cooperate with the City in improving the parks in our section, and to study the culture of plants and flowers." The club is governed by elected officers such as president, vice president, and treasurer. The club is a member of The Garden Club of Georgia, Inc. Dogwood District, the Fulton Federation of Garden Clubs, and the Atlanta Botanical Garden. One of the club's earliest and ongoing projects has been the landscaping and beautification of MacClatchey Park in the Ansley Park neighborhood, as well as planting and improvements to the traffic islands. In 1993, the club won an award from The Garden Club of Georgia, Inc. for their annual outdoor holiday decorations created for the neighborhood. Club members have participated in local and regional flower shows, winning numerous awards.
