Administrative/Biographical History

John H. Kimble (1814-1875) and Bethenia Kimble (1814-1893) had six children: Mary Catherine Doles (1836-1910), James A. J. (1838-1912), John (1842-1910), Sarah Jane Sallas (1844-1915), William D. (1845-1915), and Hiram Walter (1849-1920). Both James and John enlisted in the Confederate Army and fought in the 6th Georgia Volunteer Infantry, commonly called the Butler Van Guards. James married Abigail Charity Smith (1840-1892) in 1868 and they had five children: Olia (1870-1917), Gratlan (1871-1948), Abigail (1874-?), William (1878-?), and Effie I. (1880-1967). James later married Ada Claxton (1860-1929) in 1894 and they had one child, John Claxton (1896-?).
