This collection consists of newspaper clippings, correspondence, and manuscripts by Georgia authors. Manuscripts include the story "Atlanta Biltmore", by Frances Newman. Correspondents include Ella Mae Thornton, June and Susie Ray, Hansell Baugh, Kemper Herreld, John Easter Minter, Erskine Caldwell, and opera singers Enrico Caruso, Nolan Van Way, and Louis Roney.

Administrative/Biographical History
Frank Daniel was from Thomaston, Georgia, and attended the University of Georgia in 1922 where he studied for a year at Columbia University in the School of Journalism. He next joined the staff of the Atlanta Journal. Daniel was known for his coverage of the Metropolitan Opera performances in Atlanta. He later did a daily column in the Journal and retired in 1965.
