Administrative/Biographical History

The Butterfly Junior Garden Club of Atlanta, Georgia, was organized in 1958 to "increase knowledge of horticulture; actively practice conservation and study of wildlife and resources of Georgia; to make a scrapbook of nature's treasures; learn flower arranging; and share creative work with others." The club was sponsored by the Northridge Garden Club of Atlanta, Georgia, and participated in the Northridge Garden Club flower shows. The club was governed by elected officers such as president, vice president, treasurer, as well as by the Northridge Garden Club Junior Club Committee. The club held monthly programs and worked on projects such as making decorations for hospitals, planting trees on school grounds, attending flower arrangement workshops, and studying native birds.
