William Stanford Sr. (1933-2005) was employed at the security department at Rich’s department store in Atlanta. During his employment, a civil rights march was held by African American college students, possibly from Atlanta University Center colleges and universities, protesting Atlanta businesses that refused to offer equal treatment in their stores, restaurants, and at their dining counters.
