Butler Street barn, 1949 July
Scope and Contents
This collection contains photographs of early 20th century Atlanta vehicles detailed in Volume II of Jean Martin’s Mule to MARTA book series. The collection includes images of trackless trolleys, coach cars, buses, work cars and cranes, and a light rail vehicle. Many of the photographs show these vehicles in use on downtown Atlanta streets. Other images include a revised city plan from the 1924 Beeler Report, a motorman, and a former trolley that was converted into a mobile home. Of special note are photographs of former Atlanta trolleys that were renumbered and used in regular service in South Korea from 1949 to March 19, 1968.
