Scope and Contents
This collection contains photographs of Richard Kavanaugh's personal life and professional career. The personal images are primarily in the photo albums and depict parties at Kavanaugh's residence on East Morningside Drive in Atlanta, Georgia. Albums also highlight Kavanaugh with friends, including many of them in Piedmont Park in Atlanta, Georgia. Many the photo albums also contain images related to Kavanaugh's professional career as an editor for Cruise. Included are travel photographs with friends and colleagues to locations such as Daytona Beach, Florida; Memphis, Tennesee; New Orleans, Louisiana; New York City; and San Francisco. Also included are images of Cruise staff and offices on Armour Circle in Atlanta, Georgia; events such as drag shows at Sweet Gum Head and the Atlanta Pride Parade; and individuals featured in the magazine. Of special note are portraits of Richard Kavanaugh and Robert "Bob" Swinden, president of Cruise. Included with the photo albums are notes identifying individuals and events featured in the albums.
