This series contains vital, financial, and court records from Campbell County before it merged with Fulton County in 1931. Departments documented include the Sheriff's office, Court of Ordinary, and Inferior Court. The bulk of the records are annual return books and minute books. Also in the series are ledgers of taxes, account audits, and funds. Vital records include a census, statistics index, ledger of paupers, pensions, and a docket of invalid soldiers. Of particular note are a sheriff’s docket and cash book, and a jail record ledger.
