Scope and Contents
This series contains documents from the Board of Tax Assessors. The bulk of the collection are residential property record cards and real estate tax plat books, which the county used to calculate property taxes. Maps depict property dimensions, tax payments, and owner names. Also in the series is a volume of tax reports, and minutes from regular and special meetings of the Board of Tax Assessors, the Joint Board of City and County Tax Assessors, and the Tax Committee. Minutes document resolutions, residents contesting taxes, special assessments, and committee management. The series also contains tax assessments with property information. There are no indexes for the minutes or assessments.
