This collection contains images that document the metropolitan Atlanta region and photographs illustrating social events in the city. Bell and Stanton Public Relations used these photographs documenting the Atlanta area as promotional images. Most of the images were taken in the late 1960s and include the Atlanta Civic Center, Atlanta Memorial Arts Center, First Federal Savings and Loan building, Hartford Insurance building, Peachtree Center, and the Trust Company of Georgia. The collection also includes aerial views of the city and images of Stone Mountain Park, Atlanta Stadium, and Atlanta International Raceway. Social events include images of parties sponsored by the Metropolitan Opera in Atlanta in the late 1950s and 1960s. Included are images of entertainers such as opera singers Jerome Hines (1921-2003), Blanche Thebom (1950-2010), Lucine Amara (1924-), Gabor Carelli (1915-1999), Robert Merrill (1917-2004), and director Rudolf Bing (1902-1997). musician Graham Jackson (1903-1983), and Georgia political and business figures James V. Carmichael (1910-1972), and William B. Hartsfield (1890-1971). The collection also includes a copy of the Metropolitan Opera program cover from 1910.
