Scope and Content

From the Series:

This series contains records pertaining to the content published in Southline. There are articles, editorial ideas, letters to the editor, subject files used for research, and typestyles. There is also a file containing contacts of local experts in academics, business, and politics used for researching or preparing stories.

The articles are written by Southline staff and freelance writers. There are draft articles marked with editorial notations, copies of completed articles ready for publication, and rough outlines and tables of content for some of the 1985 issues and all of the 1988 issues. The articles cover a range of topics including local and national politics; social issues such as race relations; and local art, music, and theater reviews.

The subject files contain newspaper clippings, articles, reports, and notes on various topics researched and collected by Todd Evans and the Southline staff. Most topics are related to Atlanta and Georgia-area businesses, politics, and organizations, as well as a few national political and social issues such as campaign finance reform, capital punishment, and nuclear power plants.
